Are these services private and confidential?
Yes, these services are private and confidential and you will be presented with privacy notification paperwork in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. Information will only be shared for the purpose of obtaining insurance reimbursement or to share with other service providers upon your request.
How long is a session?
Typically 45 minutes.
Cancellation Policy:
All clients are expected to adhere to a cancellation policy. There is a 24 hour cancellation policy. This will prevent you from receiving a separate bill for the session. If the cancellation is not received within 24 hours, you will be billed privately at the insurance hourly rate.
What are your hours and are there weekend hours?
Hours are by appointment and are spread across the week with particular attention to accommodating school-age children who require after school hours. Weekend appointments may be selectively made on a case by case basis.
Is this service covered by insurance?
Speech Pathology, Yes. I accept most major insurances including Tricare for the military.
Qualification: Services are covered by insurance if they are included in the insurance covered service manual, are part of your plan, or meet coverage guidelines. Certain services such as counseling sessions, consultations by telephone, and advocacy are not covered by your insurance and may require separate payment. A list of separate services would be covered at the time that you are accepted into the practice.
How are co-insurance and co-pays paid?
At the time of the appointment.
Do I Need A Referral?
Yes, you need a referral if you have an HMO. You do not need a referral if you have a PPO; however, your eligibility needs to be verified prior to the first appointment. In some cases, prior authorization may be necessary.
Do you take Medicare?
Yes.
What age groups are covered in your practice?
This is a comprehensive practice that services pediatric through geriatric populations.
Will you attend an IEP meeting?
This classifies as advocacy and is not a coverable service under insurance. Every attempt is made to educate the family to advocate on their own behalf. If I were to attend a meeting, it is done on a private consultation basis and is paid for by the client.
